Chemist to make simple antimicrobial mixtures, test assay, document for EPA
Be first to innovate new dichalcogenide based heterojunction antimicrobials in our startup.
In the past few years, scientists have developed new heterojunction antimicrobials, which are as effective as current technology, but have broad spectrum effectiveness, have minimal toxicity to mammals, and are permanent.
Some scientific groups teach that pathogens will not quickly develop resistance to these new heterojunction antimicrobials, because these antimicrobials have electro mechanical effectiveness, not soley chemical based activities.
This job is part time for money. The job can be done outside of school hours. Our workshop is just ½ mile south of UMKC Rockhurst
, and we are located on major bus lines to downtown. The job can adjust to your exam weeks schedule.
You will assay like a boss, and ready these new antimicrobials for government approval, and for consumer sales.
You will perform these activities and more :
Perform very simple chemical reduction to assemble the precursors into antimicrobial heterojunctions
Ready standard chemical lab equipment like incubator, autoclave, microscope, computer
Perform standard antimicrobial diffusion assays.
Record results of assays
Fill out standard E.P.A. and state government forms to apply for antimicrobial distribution
You have completed more than 3 years of college, or are very tenacious and are completing 3 years of college.
You have a basic understanding of simple chamistry equipment and consumables used for assay.
You have a basic understanding of microscope use and can familiarize with our use of ImageJ software for colony counting.
You are a self starter and have a strong desire to learn and improve your chemical microbiology skills.
Our workshop is just down the street from University of Missouri Kansas City and Rockhurst University. We are in a commercial building across from the AutoZone on 63rd off Troost and Forest.
