Job Summary
The Military and Veteran Services Coordinator assists Veterans, active-duty military, guard and reserve members, military spouses, dependents, and civilians who seek assistance with enrollment at Georgia Southern University. This position will focus on the recruitment, enrollment, and advisement services for students interested in programs offered at our local installations of Ft. Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield.
Responsibilities
• Promote Georgia Southern University to prospective students at the Ft. Stewart and HAAF Education Center by providing information about academic programs, the enrollment process, scholarships, and funding opportunities
• Serve as a service-focused advocate for military-connected and adult learners in the enrollment process to ensure successful advisement and course registration for programs offered at Ft. Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield
• Develop and implement recruitment plans, in conjunction with program directors, for programs and certificates offered at Ft. Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield
• Log all prospective student interactions for ROI tracking and enhanced communication from Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions
• Work closely with Ft. Stewart and HAAF Education Center Leadership and Education Service Officers (ESO) to ensure adherence to guidelines to maintain compliance as a MOU School
• Support Ft. Stewart and HAAF Education Center security and access protocols by: ensuring all students (civilians) and professors are adequately prepared to attain base access for class attendance; sign for the keys to the education center when required to support evening and weekend courses; physically attend evening and weekend courses to open and close the Center
• Serve as a team member within Military & Veteran Services, assisting with departmental events and its overall mission to serve military-connected students
• Assist students with Tuition Assistance benefits
• Will certify VA benefits

• Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience
• Two (2) or more years of related work experience
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Experience
• Experience working in a higher education environment, preferably with non-traditional students.
• Experience working with military or military-connected (Veterans, Active Duty, Guard or Reservists, Military Spouses, Military Children)
Proposed Salary
$20.71 - $22.25 per hour
This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
