Description
In this internship opportunity at Skyworks, you will learn and participate in developing advanced, state-of-the-art RF front-end modules, working with seasoned engineering professionals and collaborating with subject matter experts within Skyworks. Responsibilities
- Simulating/validating analog and RF IC (PA controller, LNA, RF switch, etc.) performance across supply, temperature, and frequency
- Top- and block-level design and simulation to understand the circuits that are being measured and correlating measurements with simulation
- Creating compliance matrices against spec, plotting results and presenting results summary
- Tuning RF front-end modules in the lab
- Impedance matching using Smith chart
- Evaluating RF parameters like IP3, P1dB, NF, return loss, etc.
- Work in collaboration with your assigned mentor and manager
- LNA and RFIC related validation engineering work
Required Experience and Skills:
- Currently pursuing a PhD or MS degree studying Electrical Engineering (or related field)
- Knowledge of semiconductor devices, analog and RF circuit designs, RF and microwave engineering, wireless systems, and introductory electromagnetics
- Possess a basis understanding of IC building blocks like LNA, RF switches, mixer, bias ckt, bandgap, LDO, op-amp, etc.
- Possess an understanding of design parameters like gain, noise, non-linearity, s-parameters, stability, etc.
- Must have completed at least one RF / Microwave Electronics course
- Experience in presenting materials for design reviews
- Knowledgeable in the use of a Network Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, RF Generator, Power Meter, and Oscilloscope
- Familiar with Cadence Spectre / RF simulation tools and Cadence Virtuoso IC design environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Good communication, organization, and documentation skills
Preferred Experience and Skills
- Experience with ADS or Momentum/HFSS EM simulation tools
