Library Circulation Assistant (Work Study Eligible Only)
Circulation Assistants are responsible for providing excellent customer service at the library's main desk in person and via email and phone. Responsibilities include checking library materials in and out, processing inter-library loan requests, shelving, organizing, cleaning, data entry and other clerical duties as assigned. This position is flexible with class schedules.A variety of shifts available: mornings, evenings, late night, weekends
Students will learn time management and responsibility, critical thinking/problem-solving skills, balancing priorities, interpersonal communication, customer service, working with people from diverse backgrounds, working as a part of a team, and developing professional relationships. Insider knowledge regarding research strategy, study room sign up, and inter-library loan will also be learned.
Applicants should have communication skills (written and verbal), be positive and respectful in working with diverse populations, understanding of Microsoft Office, commitment to customer service, able to handle multiple assignments.
Shifts: Shifts are scheduled between 8 a.m.-10 p.m., Monday–Thursday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, and 2 p.m.-10 p.m. Sunday.
