Summer 2025 Internship - Accounting
The Opportunity
Your Accounting Internship with Ally will move you from educated to experienced; connecting you with diverse teams and functions across the country. You will have the opportunity to interact with Ally’s leadership and learn from their personal successes. The Ally Accounting Internship Program seeks to guide and mentor students with development opportunities designed to provide a bridge between the academic world and the world of business with roles in Business Unit and Enterprise Accounting, Tax Accounting, Financial Controls, and so much more.
Our Accounting Team contributes to Ally’s success by providing accounting and reporting oversight for all of Ally’s business units, enterprise functions, capital markets activities, payroll, and finance shared services. Our teams are organized to monitor accounting standards and coordinate the implementation of new accounting standards.

Areas of Opportunities:
Business Unit & Enterprise Accounting
- Accounting and reporting for Ally Business Lines and Enterprise Functions including, but not limited to: Automotive Finance, Corporate Consolidations, Debt, and Credit Card
Tax Accounting, Planning & Reporting
- Preparing the tax provision and related disclosures
- Forecasting tax expense and its components
- Preparing and filing tax returns
- Evaluating the impact of current and proposed tax laws
Financial Controls
- Design, plan, and execute testing over internal controls
- Testing and related governance of account reconciliations
- Efficiently and effectively resolve internal control matters
Financial Reporting
- Preparation of reports filed with the SEC (Forms 10-K/Q, 8-K, etc.)
- Preparation of various documents for regulatory and industry reporting
- Coordination with external auditors

- Program Start Date: May 20, 2025
- Program End Date: August 1, 2025
- In-Person Internship with flexibility
- 40 hours a week

The Skills You Bring
- A rising Junior or Senior (during the time of internship) in a full-time undergraduate program in a relevant field of study, such as Accounting and Business Administration, or rising Masters of Accounting
- Interest in pursuing a CPA
- Previous internship experience, extracurricular activities, and leadership experience is preferred
- A passion for the financial services and technology industry is preferred
- Candidates should reside in a commutable distance from the Ally location to which they are assigned
- Eligible to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship from the company now or in the future
