Educator’s Ally (EA) is a highly personalized search and placement agency connecting educators, administrators, and senior leaders with K-12 private and independent schools nationwide. We are currently assisting schools throughout the country with their searches for Development & Institutional Advancement entry level roles, including fellowships, associates, and internships for the ‘25-’26 school year.
Position Overview
Development & Institutional Advancement vary from school to school. These are paid, full-time positions. Some are one-year, others are two-years in length. Offices of Development & Institutional Advancement typically support schools in areas including Advancement Services, Alumni Relations, Annual Fund, and Development and help to establish the school’s strong culture of philanthropy.
These positions are ideal for individuals interested in exploring the Advancement field. In this role, you will receive mentoring and coaching and will be exposed to every aspect of the Advancement office often including working with the Directors of Alumni Relations, Annual Fund, and Advancement Services.
Timeline: We are already working on searches for fall '25! Most searches finish up by the spring.
Expectations & Essential Duties
Responsibilities may include:
- Assist the Development team advance constituent relations and fundraising goals
- Support in the planning, logistics and execution of events and special programming
- Draft and proofread communications and appeals, as needed
- Assist with prospect research and strategic briefings
- Update constituent records and other biographical changes as they arise
- Support the activities and goals of the Development office
Desired experience may include:
- An undergraduate degree is required
- Interest and/or experience in the areas of development, advancement/fundraising, and alumni relations
- Interest in working in a school environment
- Interest in participating in extra-curricular activities and being involved in the school community
- Strong organizational skills, flexibility, time management, and communication skills
