Gender and Sexuality Educator
The Office of Intercultural Engagement (OIE) at UNC Greensboro supports our diverse student population in achieving their academic goals by promoting student success through culturally rich experiences and affinity focused support. OIE provides opportunities for student-centered community building, leadership development, intergroup dialogues and cross-cultural engagements that prepare students for success in a diverse global society.
Gender and Sexuality Educators will work with both the Assistant Director of Intercultural Engagement and the Graduate Assistant for Peer Support:
- Serving as a sounding board for OIE staff in planning and executing timely and poignant programming centered around gender and sexuality.
- Assisting in the set-up, facilitation, break-down, and evaluation of OIE programming related to gender and sexuality.
- Serving as facilitators for educational workshops and training around gender and sexuality, including Safe and Trans Zone.
- Maintaining strong relationships with campus stakeholders, including other departments, student groups, and academic disciplines, to ensure a collaborative approach to programming.
- Staffing information tables at events on behalf of OIE.
- Serving on panels sharing perspectives of queer-identified students at UNCG.
- Serving as campus mentors for students within the LGBTQIA+ community across campus
- Designing digital promotion materials for UNCG OIE events and social media.
Gender and Sexuality Educators will work an average of 3-5 hours a week at $10/hour.
