Winter Shadowing in Greece

Thanksgiving week shadowing doctors and volunteering in Greece
 

The Philotimo Med Abroad program is open to all medical, pharmacy, dental, and "pre-" students of all disciplines. Participants can gain key experience, witness medical procedures firsthand, and enrich their learning through rounds, conferences, and informal discussions. After shadowing, reflective journaling promotes deep learning and self-improvement.


The Clinical Shadowing Program

  • You will have the opportunity to participate in 25+ hours of shadowing across various hospital departments, encompassing both surgical and non-surgical settings.
  • This program offers the chance to shadow within your desired specialty and observe numerous robotic surgeries.
  • As in actual medical training, some fields may be more engaging for individuals than others.
  • The student-doctor ratio is maintained at 1:1 or 2:1 to ensure a personalized learning experience.
  • You can combine international travel with the invaluable experience of shadowing and contributing to the creation of educational materials for young refugee children.
  • Additionally, you will have the opportunity to prepare and serve a Thanksgiving meal to those in need, and also take time for travels during the winter season.

 

The Volunteering

  • This program presents an exceptional opportunity to engage with unaccompanied refugee children and share meaningful experiences with them.
  • You will collaborate with qualified psychologists and professionals to acquire a firsthand understanding of refugee issues and assistance.
  • You are expected to develop an educational project aimed at making a positive impact on the children, requiring a genuine willingness to offer support, display initiative, and maintain a positive and proactive attitude.
  • Duties will include assisting with the Thanksgiving meal and making necessary preparations.

Our objectives include providing guidance on personal confidence, fostering social activities, facilitating discussions on future career paths, and identifying the needs of the residents within the community.

Cancellation Policy

1. A deposit of $500 at signing.  All deposits are non-refundable.

2. Remaining Balance:

  • The remaining balance is due 30 days before the program start date.

3. Monthly Payments:

  • Pay the balance in monthly installments, with no additional fees.

4. Invite a friend and get an extra 10% off.

5. Bounce checks fee is $2oo 

6. Failure to communicate or send your documents on time can result in the cancellation of your internship.

7. The COVID certification card is a requirement.

8. Philotimo Med Abroad is not responsible for your airfare
