Sales Development Representative 

 

Summary of Position 

This is an hourly position, without benefits, at the UNHInnovation (UNHI). UNHInnovation enables, leverages, and accelerates ideas at UNH through partnerships and the support of new enterprises. We maximize the social and economic benefits of UNH talent, research, and resources for our state and beyond. Our units support the commercialization of UNH intellectual property through internal licensing or support for Venture Studio clients, and corporate engagement partnerships with external companies.

Sales Development Representative 

This is a part-time hourly position at UNHI. This entry-level position will report to the UNHI Marketing Director, with onboarding training and ongoing mentorship from the Technical Sales Executives. The Sales Development Rep will maintain up-to-date customer records and to assist in engaging potential customers. 

Sales Development Representative will be expected to: 

Obtain a high-level understanding of targeted technologies, organizations, and UNHI’s intellectual property portfolio.  

Generate leads by leveraging sales enablement tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator and Seamless.AI.  

Work closely with Marketing Director to develop messaging for outreach. 

Conduct outbound efforts to qualify new leads. 

Identify and overcome prospect objections. 

Set up meetings or calls between leads and Venture Studio clients. 

Maintain a complete record of outreach efforts in Salesforce. 

Maintain up-to-date records in Salesforce with oversight from the Marketing Director. 

Provide general sales support for inbound customer communications with oversight from the Marketing Director. 

 

Acceptable Minimum Qualifications 

Currently enrolled at the University of New Hampshire 

Available to work 12-15 hours in semester and 40 hours/week (Mon-Fri, 8AM-5PM) outside of semester. 

Pass a pre-employment background check 

Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

Strong, positive presence in phone communications 

Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively 

Experience creating and updating Microsoft PowerPoint presentations 

Strong listening and presentations skills, including remote presentations with Zoom or similar 

 

Additional Desirable Qualifications 

A willingness to speak with new people every day and explain the UNHInnovation’s value proposition as it relates to each person you speak with. 

Experience working with Salesforce or similar CRM 

 

Salary Information 

The starting rate for UNHInnovation’s Sales Development Representative is $12-15 an hour depending on relevant sales experience.
