Electrical Engineering Intern

FutureFuel Chemical Company, formerly Eastman Chemical Company in Batesville, Arkansas, has an opportunity for an Electrical Engineering Intern for the summer 2025.  Candidates must have completed their sophomore year in Electrical Engineering by May 2025.

Electrical Engineering Interns work under the guidance of our Electrical Engineering Project Engineers whose responsibilities include: 

• Providing technical assistance, process improvement, and manufacturing support for Manufacturing, Utilities, and Maintenance
• Solving electrical engineering problems and distinguishing between the relative merits of different plans and designs.
• Troubleshooting and identifying root causes of electrical and instrument problems
• Working in teams or independently to increase production capacity, improve mechanical integrity, provide safer operations, or reduce energy requirements.
• Applying sound process economics analysis principles to determine and document project values
• Providing electrical engineering support for multiple areas of expertise which could include:  high voltage power systems, instrumentation, control systems, electrical classification, motor specification, lighting design, and process control
• Evaluating and specifying new electrical equipment and instrumentation
• Maintaining awareness and ties to corporate engineering practices and engineering resources to help implement projects
• Assisting with the definition and implementation of capital projects that will result in process improvements or increased capacity
• Managing several projects simultaneously and regularly communicating progress to stakeholders
• Following safety and quality procedures
