Volunteer/Internship Podcast production assistant

The Project
We are currently in production completing the first episode of a new podccast/information show called "The Glorious Beard. This program revolves around beard culture taking nuances from pop culture, movies, music and more in a style thats keen to something you might hear on NPR or the BBC. In fact the eventual goal is to create the project with the mindset of being picked up by a major outlet and continue into the large scale domain, bringing the team along with us.
We are looking for creative people who want to expand their skillsets, learn new things, and be part of a team working towards those goals.
The core team are professionals who have worked together a long while now and have 30+ years combined experience between us all... the rest come from various backgrounds and disciplines. The hope is that people bring their talents and skills together and teach each other what they know while also learning together. like a networking incubator kind of environment.
Role Description
This position has no pay and is an internship or volunteer role
As a Production Assistant at JXB Radio Network, the student will be responsible for day-to-day tasks related to production, quality control, idea generation, and other tasks as needed to create a professional air worthy radio program/podcast.
Student will work as part of a team to support various elements of podcast projects and ensure smooth operations.
Expectations/responsibilities for interns:
As a part of JXB Media, the student will be working closely with other interns, professionals and well seasoned veterans of the radio and television industry, remotely, through the use of teamwork apps and other applicable softwares such as google suite, zoom, dropbox, discord, etc.
This includes but is not limited to: Audio production, hosting, creative writing, research, non linear video editing, line producing, distribution for syndication, marketing, social media management, asset management, cataloging and other duties as assigned.
Student will be required to have a weekly meeting with the director to discuss progress, goals, etc. This is conducted remotely over zoom, google meet, discord video, etc.
Approx. expected working hours at minimum per week: 10
Student can gain credit for the internship according to their specific schools program.
This is a perfect opportunity for those who have an interest in pop culture and creative writing as the style of script will reflect narrative entertainment journalism.

FLSA information:
Student should expect and acknowledge the following:
- This position is strictly for internship/volunteer purposes and is non paid.
- The extent of the students training will involve working with software commonly available or like that of what would be found in a commercial radio station.
- Students will also learn performance techniques for radio DJ/presenting, along with other applicable skills, attributes, and necessities that a Radio DJ would be required to know.
- Students seeking internship credit should check with their career center, advisor or otherwise department in charge of their internship credits to make their credit valid.
- Interns at JXB Media are not guaranteed or promised any form of employment or compensation either during or after their internship is complete.
Qualifications
- Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and remotely
- Knowledge of audio and video production techniques is a plus
- Interest in media and broadcasting
- Ability to be a cool person
- Have a few good jokes
- Be excited to take risks and learn new things for your future
- Be able to use Discord for team communication
