Non-Profit Business Management Internship for NYC Theater

This is an intensive Leadership Training Program in non-profit business management. Interns receive hands-on training in an award-winning theater arts and community service organization.

We are looking for individuals with initiative, who have an interest in leadership and management and the ability to work independently, communicate effectively on the phone, in-person or in writing and interact in a fast-paced business environment. We are looking for idealistic go-getters who can put their thoughts and insights into action; positive, enthusiastic individuals who want to make a difference in the world and are committed to upholding the legacy and tradition of theater in the belief that theater can change lives and make the world a better place for everyone. We are looking for people who use ingenuity and creativity to be able to deliver in a non-profit environment, where one does not always have what one needs.

 

Responsibility:

The intern’s primary responsibility is to take a leadership role in the daily operations of the organization and its programming initiatives. There will be opportunities to work closely with the senior staff in administering and producing ATW’s on-going classes and workshops for professional actors and in community programs that serve at-risk youth.

Under the supervision of the ATW staff, interns will be accountable for the completion of projects in the following areas: administration of ATW's studio rental business, HR, Marketing, Fundraising and Development, Video production, Event planning, IT, Social Media Marketing and Graphic design. Students with a diverse set of academic backgrounds are welcome to apply. This is a great internship for those seeking growth opportunities. Our interns have gone on to have jobs in HR, Marketing, Arts Management consulting, Television production, Office Management, the list goes on.

 

Requirement: 

Internships are available for 4 to 18 months in duration and are 40+ hrs per week. Limited part-time internships are available for domestic interns. This is a non-paid internship program.

For international applicants, English fluency is required. You will need to be able to speak, read and write English with ease in a fast-paced business environment. If your skill is not at this level, please get the necessary training before applying.
