Program Leader (Financial literacy intern)

Job Summary: Breadwinners Academy Program Leader will assist in planning, implementing, executing, and evaluating lessons related to personal finance in the classroom. Each Program Leader will instruct the curriculum alongside the Executive Director or Program Leader in the schools. The primary focus is to support students in developing essential financial skills and knowledge.

Responsibilities:

  1. Classroom Support:
    • Assist in preparing and organizing classroom materials, resources, and visual aids.
    • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who may need additional help.
    • Lead in-class instruction once ready
  2. Lesson Preparation:
    • Collaborate with the Breadwinners leadership team to develop lesson plans, activities, and assessments.
    • Assist in researching and updating content to ensure relevance and accuracy.
  3. Student Engagement:
    • Foster a positive and interactive learning environment.
    • Encourage student participation through discussions, activities, and real-life scenarios.
  4. Technology Assistance:
    • Assist in utilizing technology tools and resources to enhance the learning experience.
    • Provide technical support to students during computer-based activities.
  5. Record Keeping:
    • Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and assessments.
    • Assist in preparing and distributing progress reports to students and parents.
  6. Communication:
    • Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents about students’ progress and challenges.
    • Support in organizing and participating in parent-teacher conferences or information sessions.
  7. Professional Development:
    • Attend training sessions and workshops to stay updated on financial literacy content and teaching techniques.
    • Collaborate with other educators to share best practices.
       

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma; some college coursework in education, finance, or related fields is a plus.
  • Must have daytime availability (Tues through Fri).
  • Experience working with students in an educational setting.
  • Passion for uplifting students 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge or interest in personal finance topics.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with educational technology.
