Scientist

Position: Scientist (Contractor Role)

Department: Biochemical and Cellular Pharmacology

We have an opening for an enthusiastic and talented Scientist to join our Biochemical and Cellular Pharmacology Department. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for developing, validating and executing innovative biochemical and cellular assays to support small molecule drug discovery projects. The candidate will have an opportunity to conduct detailed data analyses and present reports to project teams. The candidate will be expected to communicate results clearly in both written and oral form, and will need to effectively collaborate with a diverse group of scientists as part of a multi-disciplinary project team that includes protein science, chemistry, and in vitro and in vivo groups.

Requirements:

The qualified individual will possess a B.S. or M.S., with 0-3 years relevant experience on small molecule drug discovery projects in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry. Experience working with cell culture and human primary cells is preferred. The use of automated or semi-automated instrumentation in this role is a plus, but not required. Familiarity with data analysis methods and software, including automated dose-response measurements, is advantageous. The position requires strong organizational skills, teamwork, and communication with the ability to present scientific data intra- and inter-departmentally and the ability to work well as part of a team. This is a hands-on, laboratory based position.
