Logistics Intern
ZF Foxconn Chassis Tuscaloosa is a global company and a leader in driveline and chassis technology. We are a tier 1 supplier for Mercedes-Benz U.S International supplier. As a logistics intern, you will work on a variety of projects that correlate to the complex and always changing needs of the plant. Some projects include running logistic audits, assist in training, assist in analyzing and managing 5S, processing the order of operations within systems and managing for the logistics department and support the analysis and management of performance indicators.
General duties:
- Communicating with material planners and logistics managers
- Work with 3rd party solicitors to obtain USMCA data related to trade agreements for entry into the Mercedes integration point
- Use SAP to create and send reports to update the status of suppliers, backlogs, and freight containers
- Update a key performance indicator workbook for mid-level managers
- Work with management to update accounting information regarding freight carriers
- Audit 5S, TPM, and standardized work around the plant
- Update and consolidate data for continuous improvement projects
- Operating heavy machinery
General requirements
- Available to work 20-25 hours a week during the school year and 40 hours a week during the summer
- Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student in an accredited college
- Able to work in a cross-functional team
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Enthusiastic in participating in the Interns & Young Professionals' group
- Good communication skills and time management
