Transition Specialist

We, at NUSkool Scholars, are seeking to hire Transition Specialists in Kanawha County, however, have availability in other areas across the state.  We are looking at candidates in the Social Science and Education Fields of study but will consider other candidates with good verbal and written communication skills.

In addition, we are offering paid internship opportunities for those in the Social Science Field of Study.  The pay rate is $20per BILLABLE HOUR and would require a minimum of a 15-week commitment.  

Overall function:

-Works collaboratively with agency representatives to provide information sessions for clients and/or parents to transition clients into the workforce, prepare them for secondary education, and provide them with the skills necessary to live independently.

- Help clients locate competitive employment that is consistent with their vocational goals

- Facilitate career exploration with various businesses within the community

-Plan and implement transition services

-Case management

-Instruction

Education requirements: Bachelor's degree (currently enrolled in a related field of study) or experience with individuals with disabilities in lieu of degree

Valid drivers license, reliable vehicle, proof of insurance, and willing to transport clients as needed

Random drug test, driving record, and background check required

Verbal and written communication skills required

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 4 – 30 per week
