Grant Research/Writer (Comedy)

Position Overview:

We are looking for motivated and detail-oriented interns to join our team as Grant Research & Writing Interns. In this role, you will play a critical part in identifying and securing grant opportunities that align with our company’s goals and objectives. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in grant research, proposal writing, and the overall fundraising process within a creative and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Grant Research:

  • Conduct thorough research to identify grant opportunities from federal, state, local, and private sources that are relevant to Mecha Media and SlapStik Comedy.
  • Analyze grant eligibility criteria to determine the best fit for our needs.
  • Maintain an organized database of potential grant opportunities and deadlines.

Proposal Writing:

  • Assist in drafting and editing grant proposals, applications, and supporting documents.
  • Collaborate with the team to gather necessary information and data for proposals.
  • Ensure that all grant applications are tailored to meet the specific requirements of each grantor.

Application Management:

  • Track the progress of ongoing grant applications and ensure that all deadlines are met.
  • Coordinate with the team to gather additional information or documents as required by grantors.
  • Assist in submitting grant applications through online portals or other required methods.

Reporting & Follow-Up:

  • Help prepare reports and updates on the status of grant applications and awarded grants.
  • Assist in maintaining communication with grantors, including sending thank-you letters and updates on project progress.

  • Get hands-on experience in the broader field of fundraising, including how grants fit into an overall funding strategy.
  • Understand the importance of grants in supporting creative and media-related projects.

Qualifications:

  • Strong interest in grant writing, fundraising, media, and entertainment.
