IT Support Intern

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues and assisting with system configurations.
  • Assist in setting up, installing, and maintaining computer systems, networks, and peripherals.
  • Collaborate with IT team members on technology projects, such as software deployments, system upgrades, and network enhancements.
  • Monitor and respond to helpdesk tickets and inquiries promptly, ensuring excellent customer service and resolution of issues.
  • Assist in maintaining IT documentation, including user manuals, system configurations, and network diagrams.
  • Jira administration and workflow development.
  • Research emerging technologies and industry trends to contribute to continuously improving IT processes and procedures.
  • Participate in IT meetings and training sessions to expand knowledge and skills in various technology areas.
  • Perform basic administrative tasks in Microsoft 365 environments, such as Azure/Entra, InTune, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Manage user and device accounts in the on-premise active directory and Microsoft Entra.
  • Assist with hardware inventory management.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Enrolled in a degree program in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline.
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and networking principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen interest in learning new technologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effective teamwork.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and basic troubleshooting skills.
  • Previous experience with computer hardware assembly, software installation, and system configuration is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Jira Administration and workflow development.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage tasks efficiently in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
  • Motivated to gain practical experience and actively contribute to significant projects.

The hourly rate for this position is $15 per hour. Actual compensation will depend on a range of factors, including but not limited to the individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, certifications, location, other business and organizational needs, and applicable employment laws.
