Position: Frontend Website Design Paid Fall Intern
Logistics: Part-time (10 hours per week) $14 per hour, possible overtime. Flexible start date based on academic calendar
Location: Remote, with potential occasional in-person meetings and networking opportunities
Organization Overview: Rhode Island for Community and Justice is a non-profit organization located in Providence Rhode Island. RICJ is dedicated to restorative juvenile justice and positive youth development.
Position Summary: As a Website Design intern, you will be primarily responsible for upkeep and revision of the Rhode Island for Community and Justice website using the Wix platform. You will have the opportunity to contribute to related projects as well.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and update website content, including creating new webpages, and making sure the site in onbrand
- Monitor the website key performance indicators (KPI’s) to understand the sites traffic and engagement
- Create social media-focused data reports
- Assist with SEO efforts for website
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues as it related to the site
- Lead the project of revising and improving the RICJ website
- Educate RICJ staff members on the changes you are making to the website, and basic website maintenance to ensure sustainability of your work product
- Help gather data to demonstrate increased engagement on our website as a result of your work
Requirements:
- Prior web design experience, in class or internships
- Posses a wide range of frontend web design skills, backend skills are a bonus
- Competence and previous experience working with Wix
- Ability to manage projects and stay on schedule
- Appreciative of the mission of RICJ
- Ability to both effectively collaborate with team members and work independently
