We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Account Executive (AAE) to bring onto one of our largest accounts. This is a unique opportunity to work on a team delivering award-winning and industry leading work, supporting our Earned media team as we identify opportunities and tell stories that tie our client to culture with focus on a few key product verticals, including collectibles, sports trading cards and memorabilia, collectible card games and more. This is a fast-paced account with tons of opportunity for growth and an incredible teamwork-oriented culture.
A passion for and knowledge of collectibles (ideally within the product categories above) is highly preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Support account teams in daily activities – learn Edelman’s various consulting processes/approaches, including integrated communications, media relations, consumer engagement, trend monitoring, brand collaborations, social media and digital campaigns, and support account teams in the execution of these processes for clients
- Understand key client information including business strategy, products and services, key customers, and competitors
- Build and foster ongoing relationships with key media across brands
- Research, outline, write, edit, and proofread materials, specifically pitches, product key messages, fact sheets, talk tracks, media briefing documents and more
- Conduct media outreach and follow up in alignment with pitch calendar and agile opportunities
- Assist with research including industry trends and competitor innovations
- Coordinate details for brand collaborations and virtual press & influencer events including securing attendees, staffing events, and preparing recap reports
- Provide client service administration including preparing client status and activity reports, attending meetings and conference calls, compiling media monitoring reports and competitor coverage, scheduling, and logistics
- Track product inventory and oversee creative product mailers alongside the team
- Assist with vendor management for brand initiatives including not limited to influencer partnerships, events, and activations
- Demonstrate a general knowledge of social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the social media industry, influencer marketing, and basic principles of community engagement
- Demonstrate behaviors consistent with Edelman’s values and Code of Ethics and Business Conduct
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Possess good interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to work effectively with a variety of account service staff within a specific set of accounts.
- Strong work ethic and dedication to consistently provide quality work to their team and clients
Preferred Qualifications:
- A passion for and knowledge of collectibles, including one, if not several, of our client’s priority product categories such as collectibles, sports trading cards and memorabilia, collectible card games and more. Work experience within one of those categories a plus.
- Intricate level of understanding of the account(s), the clients’ businesses, products, markets, personnel, outside influencers, opposition, etc.
- Solid grasp of all basic public relations tools and how they are used to achieve client goals
- Strong research, writing and editing skills and the ability to develop media contacts/relationships
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment
- Fundamental understanding of media outreach assignments and the ability to apply experience and initiative in developing appropriate traditional and online media strategies
- Proactive self-starter with excellent organizational and project management skills, along with the ability to adapt to change and meet deadlines
- Affinity for storytelling and an ability to generate creative ideas, take risks and think big
