Nauticus Volunteer Resources Intern (Seasonal)
Volunteer Resources Intern will be responsible for assisting the Volunteer Resource Manager with the daily operations and assessment of the overall Nauticus Volunteer Program including, but not limited to, volunteer/internship opportunities, recruitment, onboarding process, database systems, personal goals, trainings, and staff/intern evaluations.
Duties include:
- Data entry into excel spreadsheets, filing, and scanning into Volgistics Database of volunteer personnel information and service hours
- Taking pictures of volunteers in action for use in promotional materials and volunteer records
- Update Volunteer Info Board monthly with Birthdays, Volunteer Spotlights, and volunteer event announcements
- Maintain Volunteer timekeeping IPad system
- Compose correspondence, gathers data, and assists with preparing reports
- Assists with Nauticus New Volunteer Orientations for new volunteers and interns
- Assists with Volunteer Recognition Awards and Events
- Assist with department Volunteer Liaisons/Supervisors to evaluate/survey interns and help set and meet personal goals throughout season of service
Qualifications:
- Strong communication, computer and written skills required
- Must be organized.
- Ability to work with diverse audiences
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 20 lbs
- All adults volunteers/interns are required by the City of Norfolk to receive a background check. Services will be provided for the potential intern at no cost to them.
Schedule/Details:
Volunteer Resource Intern will report to Volunteer Resource Manager, Susie Hill.
Seasonal Position- schedule decided based on availability of volunteer intern and supervisor.
Up to 20 Hours/week between Tuesdays-Saturdays, 9-5:30.
All Nauticus internship positions are unpaid with no expectation of compensation.
