Job Summary
Support environmental compliance and Georgia Southern's commitment toward good management practices . Ensure compliance with state and federal environmental regulations.
Responsibilities
• Respond to pickup requests of hazardous waste, universal waste, or biomedical waste and properly store/label containers in hazardous waste building
• Perform environmental compliance inspections and maintain accurate records. Assist with data collection and environmental reports
• Respond to incidents, customer requests, emergencies and site clean-ups
• Maintain compliance with annual training certifications including Hazwoper, RCRA, and DOT. Pursue additional professional development opportunities as relevant
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
• High School Diploma or equivalent
Required Experience
• One (1) or more years of related work experience
Preferred Qualifications
Additional Preferred Qualifications
• Successful forty hour (40) Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training
Preferred Educational Qualifications
• Associate's Degree from accredited college in Environmental Sciences or related field
Preferred Experience
• Three (3) or more years of relevant experience
• Experience in higher education, research laboratories, environmental consultation, or comparable institutional environment
Proposed Salary
$18.12 - $18.29 per hour
This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.

• Experience with relevant environmental programs, governmental regulations, and industry standards.
