Job Summary
This position will provides first-line customer service to students, faculty, staff and the general public regarding general parking and transportation matters. The majority of time will be spent patrolling assigned lots/structures and issue parking citations as needed. This position will also have interactions with disgruntled customers that have received citations or a boot on their vehicle. This position will also provide day-to-day contact, interaction, standard policy/procedural information; and may perform routine problem resolution on matters pertaining to parking and transportation issues.
Responsibilities
• Patrol designated areas of campus on foot or in vehicle to enforce parking regulations
• Write and issue parking citations
• Confirm requests to boot or towing for illegally parked vehicles
• Manage student workers to patrol parking lots around campus
• Deescalate customers that are upset about their citations or boots on their vehicle
• Provide information to faculty, staff, students, guests, and visitors on campus
• Monitor productivity and report discrepancies in attendance, performance, and other concerns to supervisor
• Provide leadership and training to students and employees
• Coordinate officers in the field for special event parking assignments
• Follow all safety and other risk management policies in the performance of work areas
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
• High School Diploma or equivalent
Other Required Qualifications
• Three (3) or more months of post-secondary education
Required Experience
• One (1) or more years of related work experience
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Educational Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice or a related field
Preferred Experience
• Two (2) or more years of experience as a parking patroller/enforcer
• Two (2) or more years of experience in customer service
Proposed Salary
$17.13 - $20.96 per hour
This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.

ABILITIES
• Consistently exhibit engaging customer service
• Ability to support various constituencies served by the University
• Proven proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office, Google, and/or applications as required for specific position
• May be required to deal with irate customers at times and work in a stressful environment.
KNOWLEDGE
• Adhere to University policies and procedures to meet Institutional goals and support University's mission for student success
SKILLS
• Effective communication (verbal and written), organizational and human relations skills
