Community Champions Intern

The Community Champions Internship Program (CCIP), part of U Career Success at the University of Utah, is excited to offer first- and second-year students an incredible opportunity to give back to their community while building their resumes. CCIP connects students with local small businesses, nonprofits, and various organizations to address unique challenges and provide innovative solutions.

Begin or accelerate your career journey with us through the Community Champions Internship Program. Here are the program highlights:

  • 10-week Internship: Engage in a hands-on internship with an assigned host office, dedicating 15-19 hours per week.
  • Stipend: Earn $13.00 per hour for your contributions.
  • Professional Development: Gain practical experience and develop skills relevant to your field.
  • Community Impact: Make meaningful contributions to the local community through innovative problem-solving.
  • This position is open to all majors.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS & HOW TO APPLY:

  • Students must hold legal authorization to work off-campus to be eligible for this internship opportunity.
  • Enrollment as a first- or second-year student at the University of Utah. (You need to be a freshman or sophomore during the summer of 2025)
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5.
  • Commitment to the entire 10-week program.
  • Ability to participate in person and manage transportation as the internship will occur in the state of Utah (Off Campus).

Responsibilities:

  • CCIP Interns will be partnered with a local organization to complete specific projects tailored to the needs of that partner.
  • Each project will be unique and may require various skill sets, such as research, web development, social media management, planning and organization, event support, client relations, data analysis, writing, financial reporting, program evaluation, and more.
  • Students will be expected to develop and demonstrate competencies in effective communication, problem-solving, collaboration, adaptability, time management, initiative, cultural awareness, empathy, attention to detail, professionalism, etc.

Interview, Selection, & Onboarding Timeline

  • Applications will be accepted and reviewed between December 1, 2024, to January 31, 2025.
  • The first round of interviews will be conducted via HireVue (a video interview platform). If you're selected after completing your HireVue, we'll notify you to schedule a second-round interview. The second round will be a group interview held between February 24-28, 2025. Please make sure you're available during this week and sign up for a group interview slot to remain in consideration.
  • Orientation/onboarding will take place from April 14-18, 2025. You must be available during this week of training to be considered for this round of hiring.
  • The internship will start in May 2025.
