Third-Grade Teacher

The Growing Tree Christian School has an immediate opening for a third-grade teacher for the 2024-2025 school year.  September 3rd start date.

The Growing Tree is a premier private Christan Elementary School, grades Pre-K through 6, located in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley in Woodstock, VA.

We are focused on providing a solid foundation in all subject areas that carry students far beyond our classrooms. We teach from a Christian perspective that includes biblical character building as well as the teachings of Jesus as our model for how we treat one another.  We are a non-denominational school. Our class sizes average 13 students.  Related arts classes are included in the daily schedule providing planning time for the core teacher.

The job description for this position includes but is not limited to, the creation of lesson plans, teaching students (including differentiation), assessing students, and positively communicating with parents and coworkers. It is necessary that the person who fills this role is able to learn the basic requirements for technology in the classroom as well as the school's data information system for grades and lesson plans. 

We believe in implementing hands on and exploratory lessons whenever possible, facilitating high interest for our students.

Must be degreed in education or related field.  Certification is not required initially but applicant will be expected to obtain licensure through the school's accreditation organization within a two year period.

Salary range is $35,000-43,000 per year.
