OK Hope Foundation - Analytics Dashboard

Company Overview

OKB Hope Foundation is a non-profit organization committed to bringing quality and timely healthcare to underserved and rural communities in Africa. Utilizing a mobile health van equipped with medical supplies, equipment, and a vast array of medications, the foundation has successfully provided medical care to over 6,000 individuals across 66 rural communities since its inception. Additionally, OKB Hope Foundation has trained 20 rural community members to serve as health advocates in their respective communities, ensuring sustainable health education and support.

 

Project Description

Students on this project will build a data analytics dashboard that will be used to enhance its healthcare delivery and resource allocation by enabling the foundation to analyze health data collected from the various communities it serves.  The insights delivered through the dashboard will reveal prevalent health conditions and trends in each community, allowing the foundation to make informed decisions on where to focus its resources most effectively.  The dashboard will include the following:

  • Health Metrics and Analytics such as disease prevalence, treatment outcomes, and medication distribution, as well as analysis trends and patterns in health conditions across different communities.
  • Resource Allocation Identify including high-need areas, optimizing the distribution of medical supplies, equipment, and medications and prioritizing training and support for health advocates in communities with the greatest need.
  • Real-Time Monitoring including real-time updates on health conditions and resource usage and enabling prompt response to emerging health issues and crises.

The dashboard’s user interface should be intuitive and accessible to non-technical users, as well with customizable views and reports to meet the specific needs of the foundation's staff and stake holders.  The value derived from the dashboard will include improved healthcare delivery by focusing on areas with the most pressing health needs, the foundation can enhance the quality and efficiency of its healthcare services, and data-driven decisions such as actionable insights, enabling the foundation to make evidence-based decisions for better health outcomes, enhanced community health and empowered health advocates.  The data analytics dashboard will serve as a vital tool for the OKB Hope Foundation, enabling the organization to maximize its impact on the health of rural communities in Africa. By leveraging data-driven insights, the foundation can ensure that its resources are utilized where they are needed most, ultimately improving the health and well-being of the underserved populations it serves.
