Friend Of The Court Receptionist

FRIEND OF THE COURT RECEPTIONIST (Caseworker Level I)– Under the direct supervision of the Deputy FOC in collaboration with the Casework Supervisors and as part of the FOC team, performs a variety of general and administrative casework functions, primarily comprised of receptionist and cashier duties, following established office procedures. Manages/directs phone and walk-in traffic with positive customer service. Acts as the primary uploader of incoming Friend of the Court Documents (including mail, documents received via fax, documents dropped off in our lobby, emails, etc.) into the OnBase EDI System according to established office protocols, which includes uploading and indexing. Acts as primary file manager for Friend of the Court files according to established office protocols including transitioning old files from paper into the OnBase EDI System. Becomes trained on and proficient in navigating and utilizing the Michigan Child Support Enforcement System (MiCSES) including performing functions such as address and other case-related updates from clients. Possesses strong organizational skills for managing and disseminating available forms in person, by email, or by mail. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned and directed.
Associate degree in office administration or secretarial science, records management or related field that qualifies the person to fulfill the duties of the position required. Bachelor’s degree in sociology, psychology, accounting, business administration, social work, criminal justice, or education that qualifies the person to handle the duties of this position preferred. Extensive Friend of the Court, Court, criminal justice, civil justice, or other legal or office experience may be considered in lieu of educational preference.
