Community Engagement Coordinator
SolPods Community Engagement - Local Sustainability Clubs Coordinator
Bring your expertise and enthusiasm for sustainability to SolPods to help build out our online community. This role is ideal for a driven, self-starter who wants to help design and market an outreach program to sustainability clubs around the world. These clubs could include local green, eco, impact investing, climate change, electrification, and zero waste clubs, among others. The goal is to create a knowledge exchange of best practices on the SolPods platform and inspire connectivity between club members globally. In this role, you will identify and reach out to the sustainability clubs and invite their members to join SolPods. You will also identify achievements and events that are of interest to club members and post on the SolPods community site. The goal is to keep SolPods members informed of best practices and share ideas for in-person and virtual conferences, workshops, lectures, and sustainability events.
Key Deliverables:
- Member Outreach: Identify and reach out to sustainability clubs and invite them to join SolPods. Update the shared outreach contact list with leads and progress.
- Event Identification and Upload: Identify and curate events and add them to SolPods. Ensure the timely uploading of in-person (to the Helping Hands) and virtual conferences, workshops, lectures, and sustainability events (to topic-specific Pods) to keep members well-informed.
- Content Creation and Posting: Generate relevant and engaging content by posting to stimulate discussion and interaction. Foster an environment of knowledge sharing, inspiration, and community building through your content.
- Member Engagement: Engage with fellow Pod members by commenting on their posts, encouraging discussion, and addressing inquiries. Promote a sense of camaraderie and collaboration within the Helping Hand pods, facilitating the exchange of ideas and insights.
To ensure a collaborative approach, the Community Engagement - Local Sustainability Clubs Coordinator will meet with the SolPods team once a week at the minimum, and to support their education on sustainability, they will participate in various SolPods exclusive training and mentorship opportunities. We expect this role to take 10 hours per week and can be done virtually. This is a volunteer position with no monetary compensation.

We provide college students with workshops on a variety of sustainability topics and community-based experiential learning opportunities where they can share their knowledge. Leadership development is also supported through the SolPods Sustainability Champions program which allows students to obtain digital badges based on training and community engagement completed.
