Sustainability Podcast Coordinator
Bring your expertise and enthusiasm for sustainability to SolPods to support our podcast show, SolPods Studio. This role is ideal for a dynamic and creative individual who is passionate about storytelling, enjoys project management and also wants to hone their audio and video engineering skills. The candidate is someone who wants to make a difference in the world while gaining practical experience in end-to-end podcast development, from researching topics and helping to identify guests to editing the audio and video and developing promotional materials.
In this role, you will support the SolPods Studio hosts in production, editing and marketing of SolPods Studios. Production responsibilities including researching sustainability topics to be covered on the show. This requires being tuned-in to global trends in sustainability across environmental and social issues that are of interest to the SolPods community and will inspire individual action to support a sustainable future. You will work with the hosts to identify guests who can speak to the topics with personal conviction and practical professional experience. To ensure a smooth flow for each episode, you will research the guest and draft a script with questions for the guest that brings out the topic in a natural way while encouraging the guest to share their journey, provide tips, and inspire others to support their sustainability initiatives. You will work with the guest to schedule a pre-interview meeting to discuss the script and recording best practices, and you will schedule a time for the podcast recording. Finally, you will draft podcast working titles for upcoming episodes and add the podcast interview and release dates to the SolPods shared content calendar.
Editing responsibilities include working with the audio and video recordings to ensure a pleasant and consistent listener/viewer experience. This requires editing the video and audio recordings to level the vocals and positioning of the guest and host on video, removing mistakes, and integrating the SolPods standard intro and outro segments. Editing responsibilities also include uploading the audio and video content to Buzzsprout and YouTube, respectively, and creating the transcript and thumbnail images for YouTube.
Marketing responsibilities include drafting the show notes for the episode with relevant links to organizations, individuals or other references made by the guest during the interview, and finalizing the title. The marketing responsibilities also include creating 2 to 4 social clips with Opus Clips. You will also draft several social media posts for the episode, coordinating the content with the SolPods Content Creator for Digital Marketing as well as the SolPods Studio guest. You will also monitor our YouTube channel, engaging with viewers by responding to comments and messages, fostering a positive and informative dialogue around sustainability.
Qualified candidates must be comfortable with Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Audition, AutoPod, Opus Clips, Buzzsprout, and Riverside as well as the Google Suite.

- Write show notes, create social clips with Opus Clips and draft social media posts
- Collaborate with SolPods Content Creator for Digital Marketing and/or SolPods team to ensure alignment of social clips and other marketing materials
- Monitor the SolPods YouTube channel and respond to comments and foster positive engagement, using the SolPods voice.
To ensure a collaborative approach, the Podcast Coordinator will meet with the SolPods team virtually at least once a week, and to support their education on sustainability, they will participate in various SolPods exclusive training and mentorship opportunities. We expect this role to take 10 hours per week over an academic semester and can be done virtually. This is a volunteer position with no monetary compensation.
