HR Intern

JOB SUMMARY

The HR Intern will assist the Human Resources Department with daily functions, including but not limited to attendance and leave tracking, policy implementation, document intake and upkeep, and specialized projects as directed by the Human Resources Director.

 

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES

·        Conduct weekly new hire orientations, including data entry, verification and completion of documents, and helping employees navigate HRIS

·        Organize and maintain personnel records, including employee files and company systems

·        Partner with HR Team and Production Supervisors to manage employee performance, including answering supervisor questions, monitoring performance review completion, and generating attendance disciplinary documents as directed

·        Assist with weekly job candidate tours and interviews; including candidate screening, verifying application completion, and launching background checks

·        Answer employee inquiries about HR-related issues; escalating when necessary

·        Manage the keyless entry badge program, including issuing badges to new employees and reconciling data as requested

·        Prepare HR documents and communications

·        Assist with policy implementation

·        Represent HR by participating in events and meetings (employee events, roundtables, etc.)

·        Understand and abide by Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures

·        Adhere to the Company mission, policies and procedures, and State and Federal regulations

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

·        None

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

·        Pursuing a Human Resource Management or related business degree required

·        Previous Human Resources or related experience preferred

·        Experience with HR software preferred

 

TRAINING/SKILLS

·        Basic understanding of related laws, including FMLA and ADA

·        Strong Microsoft Office skills

·        Strong interpersonal communication skills

·        Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize important projects

·        High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

·        Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced environment

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Intern will be required to analyze information on a computer screen, handle documents and other objects, and perform keyboarding. Intern may lift up to 25 pounds.
