Classroom Assistant Floater

Are you passionate about early childhood education? Do you love working with young children and want to make a meaningful difference in their lives? The Center for Young Children is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Part-Time Classroom Floater to join our team. This role involves working with children from birth to 1 year, as well as 2 to 5-year-olds.
Responsibilities:
As a Classroom Floater, you will:
- Engage: Actively supervise, assist, and engage with children during indoor and outdoor activities.
- Communicate: Interact openly and positively with children at their level, fostering a warm and supportive environment.
- Collaborate: Work closely with part-time workers and classroom teachers to meet and exceed State and Center learning and safety requirements.
- Assist: Help with serving daily meals, sanitizing classrooms, managing bathroom hygiene routines, and other tasks as needed.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
We are seeking candidates who are:
- Experienced: Whether through formal or informal training (e.g., babysitting, volunteering in a church daycare), you have a genuine interest in working with young children.
- Flexible: Available to work Monday through Friday, from 12:30 PM to 5:30 PM and committed to a 29-hour workweek.
- Compassionate: Able to relate well to young children and sensitive to their individual needs.
- Stable: Demonstrates emotional and social maturity, with the ability to remain calm and responsible in crisis or stressful situations.
- Team-Oriented: Possesses an "all hands on deck" spirit, ready to collaborate and contribute to the team’s success.
Requirements:
- Must pass a background check and drug test if hired.
- Must Be an IUI student
