Business Program Student Assistant
Responsibilities & Duties:
Under the direct supervision of the Business Special Sessions Director, student assistants will assist the director with the following:
- Clerical duties such as monitoring the Business Special Sessions email, organizing and maintaining files, answering phone inquiries, updating signage, making copies, and maintaining general inventory.
- Conducting research and prepare reports necessary for the MVS School.
- Maintaining Canvas course shells and websites for Business Special Sessions programs.
- Assisting with Business Special Session assessment, program review, accreditation, and annual accomplishments.
- Creating flyers, brochures, and other forms of event advertising.
- Website content editing and creation.
- Tracking semester office hours and course syllabi.
- Maintaining student records, including applicant, current student, and alumni databases.
- Answering questions and providing assistance to all students, faculty, staff, and community members.
- Working professionally, collaboratively, and collegially, with a diverse population of staff, administrators, students and other internal and external constituents.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:
The successful candidate must: (a) have the ability to work independently, (b) demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituents, (c) have strong problem-solving skills, (d) have the ability to operate standard office equipment, (e) be able to multi-task, (f) be able to work well under tight deadlines, and (g) be able to maintain high confidentiality.
