Accounting Intern
Job Overview
Accounting Intern will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of a certified public accounting firm while learning technical, professional and business skills. Interns are supervised by directors, managers, senior accountants and experienced staff accountants.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile financial statements and assist with review and audit engagements
- Prepare various tax returns – individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns
- Prepare and organize workpapers to reconcile account balances and support financial statements
- Collaborate with staff and management
- Assist with researching tax and accounting issues
- Be familiar with professional standards, financial reporting frameworks, and tax codes and regulations
Key Skills and Experience Required
- Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a minimum GPA of 3.0
- Able to work at least 20 hours per week
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Self-starter with a strong analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to work well within teams as well as individually
- Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook
