American National is currently offering an exciting opportunity for an Entry Level Programmer Analyst. This role is ideal for individuals who are just beginning their career in programming and systems analysis. The successful candidate will be involved in developing and maintaining various systems, including those related to Retirement Services, Actuarial, Reinsurance, and Pension Risk Transfer.
Essential Functions and Duties:
The position requires a strong ability to communicate with business representatives, understand and translate business requirements into system requirements, and produce technical specifications. The role also involves coding, unit testing, and collaborating with peers and business representatives to ensure that solutions align with business needs.
Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, or a Mathematics-related field, with a foundational knowledge of programming languages and technologies such as Visual Studio, SQL Server, and Java.
- Analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills are essential.
- A basic understanding of accounting principles is considered an advantage.
- The position offers a collaborative work environment and requires a commitment to providing optimal service, including participating in an on-call rotation for system support and working outside of standard hours when necessary to meet project deadlines.
