Mulitmedia Communications Intern

MULTIMEDIA COMMUNICATIONS INTERN

POSITION DESCRIPTION Charity Cares Inc. and Charity Cares Early Academy is a faith-based nonprofit organization dedicated to providing high-quality early childhood education and support services to under-resourced families. We prioritize creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for all children and their families. 

Our internships provide students with an opportunity to gain quality experiences in a community-based setting supporting children and families of diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. Through experiential, work-based learning, students will be actively engaged with Charity’s staff, children, and families. 

We are seeking a creative and motivated Multimedia Communications Intern to join our team. The Multimedia Communications Intern will assist in creating and managing media content to enhance our organization’s online presence and communication with families and the community. We allow intern students to implement professional skills and talents, exude positive energy, and gain holistic feedback.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Assist in creating and managing digital content, including photos, videos, and graphics, for social media, newsletters, and our website.
  2. Develop and implement social media strategies to enhance our online presence and engagement.
  3. Collaborate with staff to produce promotional materials and campaigns that highlight the Academy’s programs, events, and success stories.
  4. Document events and daily activities through photography and videography, ensuring high-quality visual content.
  5. Edit and produce multimedia content that aligns with our branding and messaging guidelines.
  6. Maintain an organized digital media library, ensuring easy access and retrieval of assets.
  7. Conduct research on current media trends and propose innovative ideas to improve media outreach and communication.
  8. Assist in managing and updating our website content to ensure it is current and engaging.
  9. Monitor and report on the effectiveness of media campaigns and provide recommendations for improvement.
  10. Maintain confidentiality regarding media content with children, families, and staff members.
  11. Participate in professional development opportunities related to digital media and communication.
  12. Support the overall communication strategy by promoting positive stories and news.
  13. Ensure all content aligns with Charity’s mission, values, and branding guidelines.

 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Charity Cares Early Academy operates within the confines of all governing agencies. For this position, students who most closely match the following criteria will be considered for employment:

  1. Have completed at minimum nine or more credits in Communications, Media Studies, Marketing, or a related field; or have prior documented experience in digital media and content creation.
  2. Strong understanding of social media platforms and trends.
  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  4. Proficient in graphic design tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Optisigns) is a plus.
  5. Basic photography and video skills are a plus.
  6. Creative, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
  7. Respect and love for children and their families.
  8. Maintain a disposition to work positively within a team.
  9. Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.

POSITION SKILLS GAINED
Participating students will increase their future employability through skills gained in our environment. Students will learn to manage digital media content in a preschool setting, create engaging multimedia materials, and assist with the organization of media resources in ways that promote the Academy’s mission and values. Charity is a fast-paced environment that requires attentiveness and creativity. The skill most gained from this learning experience is the ability to communicate effectively through digital media. Additional skills include:
