POSITION DESCRIPTION  

Charity Cares Inc. and Charity Cares Early Academy is a faith-based nonprofit organization dedicated to providing high-quality early childhood education and support services to under-resourced families. We prioritize creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for all children and their families.  

Our internships provide an opportunity for students to gain quality hands-on experiences in a community-based setting supporting children and families of diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. Students will be actively engaged with Charity’s staff, children, and families through experiential, work-based learning.  

We are seeking a highly organized and creative Event Planning Coordinator to join our team. The Event Planning Coordinator will assist in organizing and executing a variety of events and activities that engage our children, families, staff and community. We provide an opportunity for intern students to implement professional skills and talents, exude positive energy, and gain holistic feedback. 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES 

Assist in planning and coordinating events such as graduation ceremonies, parent workshops, community outreach programs, and fundraiser events. 

Develop detailed event plans, including timelines, budgets, and task lists. 

Coordinate with vendors, sponsors, volunteers, and staff to ensure successful event execution. 

Promote events through channels, including social media, newsletters, and flyers. 

Assist in managing event logistics, including setup, registration, and cleanup.  

Support in the creation of events materials, such as programs, invitations, and signage. 

Track event attendance and gather feedback to improve future events. 

Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities. 

Ensure all activities align with our mission, values, and safety guidelines.  

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS  

Charity Cares Inc. and Charity Cares Early Academy operate within the confines of all governing agencies. For this position, students who most closely match the following criteria will be considered for employment: 

Currently enrolled in a relevant program including Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, and Public Relations.  

Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills. 

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

Ability to work well in a team and independently. 

Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. 

Previous experience in fundraising, grant writing, or event planning is a plus. 

POSITION SKILLS GAINED 

Participating students will increase their future employability through skills gained in our environment. Students will learn to manage health services in a preschool setting, provide early care and health education to young children, and assist with the organization of health records and resources in ways that promote a safe and healthy environment that supports child safety and well-being. Charity is a fast-paced environment that requires attentiveness and care. The skill most gained from this learning experience is direct support to young children and their families. Additional skills include:
