Art And Music Intern

ART AND MUSIC INTERN 

POSITION DESCRIPTION  

Charity Cares Inc. and Charity Cares Early Academy is a faith-based nonprofit organization dedicated to providing high-quality early childhood education and support services to under-resourced families. We prioritize creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for all children and their families.  

Our internships provide an opportunity for students to gain quality hands-on experiences in a community-based setting supporting children and families of diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. Students will be actively engaged with Charity’s staff, children, and families through experiential, work-based learning.  

We are seeking a creative and passionate Art and Music Intern to join our team. Art and Music  Intern will assist in planning and conducting art and music activities, developing creative programs, and engaging children in artistic and musical exploration. We provide an opportunity for intern students to implement professional skills and talents, exude positive energy, and gain holistic feedback. 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES 

Assist in planning and conducting art and music activities for children. 

Develop age-appropriate art and music curriculum and lesson plans. 

Lead art projects, music sessions, and creative workshops. 

Encourage and support children’s creativity and self-expression through various artistic and musical mediums. 

Help organize and maintain art and music supplies and equipment. 

Support teachers in integrating art and music into the broader curriculum. 

Assist in coordinating and promoting art shows, music performances, and other creative events. 

Help create and distribute materials to promote art and music programs. 

Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities. 

Ensure all interactions and activities align with our mission, values, and goals. 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Charity Cares Inc. and Charity Cares Early Academy operate within the confines of all governing agencies. For this position, students who most closely match the following criteria will be considered for employment: 

Currently enrolled in a relevant program including Art Education, Music Education, Fine Arts, Early Childhood Education. 

Strong organizational and communication skills. 

Passionate about art and music education for young children. 

Ability to engage and inspire young children to create activities. 

Creative and able to develop innovative educational activities. 

Ability to work well in a team and independently. 

Previous experience in art or music education is a plus. 

 

 

 

POSITION SKILLS GAINED Participating students will increase their future employability through skills gained in our environment. Students will learn to manage health services in a preschool setting, provide early care and health education to young children, and assist with the organization of health records and resources in ways that promote a safe and healthy environment that supports child safety and well-being. Charity is a fast-paced environment that requires attentiveness and care. The skill most gained from this learning experience is direct support to young children and their families. Additional skills include: 

Resume enhancement and the increased development of professional skills that include: problem-solving, high-level communication, and innovation
