Role and Responsibilities:
We are seeking talented students for consideration in our Internship Program at RSIC. We have designed an ongoing program throughout the year for students in the Columbia area and a summer internship for students outside the area, that offers an experience where the intern is assimilated into a group to learn about investment management and to work under the guidance of an experienced manager. Interns will have the chance to attend public commission meetings, participate in investment industry networking, participate in scheduled events dedicated to the intern population, and gain invaluable professional experience through project-based work. It is an amazing experience to explore a career in one of the leading public pension funds. This program is designed to prepare graduates for application to our full time Investment Associate Program.
Minimum and Additional Requirements:
- Strong work ethic and initiative
- Ability to work successfully in a team environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical reasoning
- Good academic standing (3.40 or higher) with an accredited university
- Commitment to work on agreed-upon set schedule (up to 10 weeks of full-time, on-site work for summer assignments; part time work for school year assignments for students in the Columbia area)
- Currently in sophomore or junior year of college and/or university Business, Finance, Accounting and/or other quantitative degree programs such as mathematics, physics, etc.
- Completion of Introduction to Finance coursework is preferred
- A demonstrated interest for a career in Investment Management
- Expert level Excel skills and strong MS Office skills
- US Citizen authorized to work in the US
