Description

Student workers within the Department of Sports Medicine at Hobart and William Smith Colleges serve as invaluable resources to the professional staff. Student workers function in a variety of roles within the department, ranging from Athletic Training Facility monitoring to practice preparation and game set up. Students will be provided pertinent job training: learning CPR, basic first aid, and athletic taping skills throughout their time with the department.

Students who show both interest and aptitude can often be placed with a specific sports team that matches their skills and performance. These students follow their designated team throughout the season and if desired for multiple years during their time here at HWS. These students may travel to away contests in the presence of a Certified Athletic Trainer if their class schedule allows.

You will make friendships, gain an understanding of this medical field, and make money while being around sports! This position requires the ability to lift and carry items heavier than 30 pounds, may require use of motorized vehicles, some work shifts will take place outdoors for extended periods of time. Workers will adhere to the dress code and ethics standards established by the department.
