Internship/Volunteer Details
This role is available as either an internship or volunteer opportunity, structured to offer 30 noncontiguous hours over 60 business days. This flexible schedule is designed to foster a productive learning environment and establish a strong foundation for a potential future full-time or part-time role upon your graduation.
Role Overview: Program Development Intern/Volunteer
In this role, you will directly contribute to expanding our organization's impact through the creation and implementation of new programs aimed at educating and supporting children, veterans, senior citizens, and other community groups. Your efforts in research, planning, and community engagement will be pivotal in advancing our mission.
Detailed Responsibilities
Program Research and Development:
- Needs Assessment: Conduct research to identify the needs of our target populations (children, veterans, seniors) and other community groups.
- Program Design: Develop new program proposals, including objectives, activities, and expected outcomes, to address identified needs.
- Pilot Programs: Assist in the planning and execution of pilot programs to test new initiatives, gathering feedback and making necessary adjustments.
Community Engagement:
- Stakeholder Communication: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key community stakeholders, including educational institutions, local governments, and other nonprofits, to foster partnerships and collaborative projects.
- Public Engagement: Organize and participate in public engagements such as community meetings and educational panels to foster a positive relationship with the community.
- Feedback Integration: Implement systems for collecting and analyzing feedback from community interactions to continually improve engagement strategies and align them more closely with community needs.
Program Implementation:
- Resource Coordination: Assist in coordinating resources, including volunteers, materials, and venues, to ensure the successful implementation of new programs.
- Volunteer Management: Support the recruitment, training, and management of volunteers to help deliver program activities effectively.
- Monitoring and Evaluation: Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation plans to assess the impact of new programs and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
Fundraising and Grant Writing:
- Grant Research: Identify potential funding opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
- Grant Proposals: Assist in writing grant proposals to secure funding for new and existing programs.
- Fundraising Campaigns: Support the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns to generate financial support for the organization’s initiatives.
Performance Analysis:
- Data Collection: Collect and analyze data on program performance, participant outcomes, and community impact.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on program activities, outcomes, and lessons learned, providing insights and recommendations for future program development.
- Market Research: Conduct ongoing market research to stay informed of industry trends and adjust strategies accordingly to maintain a competitive edge.
