Training and Development Intern

At AMERICAN, we believe in fostering a culture of continuous learning and development. As a Training and Development Intern, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our training and development initiatives. You'll gain hands-on experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment, contribute to meaningful process improvements, and develop valuable skills in training, process improvement, and relationship management.

Acceptable Majors:

  • Engineering Majors
  • Occupational Health & Safety/Public Health
  • Human Resources

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Pursuing or recently graduated with a relevant bachelor's degree (Post Grad or Senior standing preferred)
  • Available to begin internship in Fall 2024 (Opportunity is flexible with school schedule)
  • Experience with Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Getting Hands-On: Work alongside Training Specialists and dive into our operations, get hands-on, and impact the plant floor through training initiatives.
  • Energetic Teaching Style: Brings positive energy and enjoys teaching others. Assists in coaching and training team members all across the plant.
  • Influence and Motivation: Capable of motivating others to engage in training initiatives. Displays initiative and self-starter mindset.
  • Training Program Development: Interested in developing and improving training programs.
  • Relationship Management: Maintains positive relationships with team members in both office and plant environments.

Potential Projects:

  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements within the plant.
  • Training Support: Assist in developing and tracking training programs.
  • New Hire Orientation: Support the coordination of new hire orientation.
  • Training Class Facilitation: Assist our Training Specialists facilitate on-the-job training.
  • Professional Growth: Develop skills in training, process improvement, and relationship management. Get hands-on, real experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Dynamic Environment: Be part of a team that values innovation and continuous improvement.
