Student Dispatcher - $14/Hour

Under general supervision, provides communication support for police officers, student patrol, parking, and Facilities personnel using the Iowa Statewide Interoperable Communication System (ISICS); receives phone calls from students, faculty, staff, and visitors and provides information; dispatches officers to requests for service; operates multiple systems, including a computer automated dispatching systems (CAD), multiple alarm systems, and the National Crime Information Center (NCIC), serves as a department notary, performs related clerical tasks; and performs other related duties.

This position is for the Fall, Spring and Summer semesters. Dispatch is a 24/7, 365 day operation. The Student Dispatcher's main schedule is every other weekend 1st shift with a shift during the week, will work around class schedule. Has opportunities to pick up other shifts that are during 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift hours. Some occasional evening or overnight hours may be necessary. During academic breaks there are opportunities to work more than 20 hours.
