Workforce Development Associate
Summary: Under the direction of the VP – Pipeline & Outreach, the Workforce Development Associate plays a crucial role in advancing the Indiana CPA Society's workforce development initiatives, with a primary focus on recruiting, retaining, and engaging a pipeline of students and members. This role involves relationship-building and outreach efforts targeted at high school and college students, educators, and various stakeholders to promote accounting as a profession of opportunity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
High School:
- Works with VP – Pipeline & Outreach to develop presentation materials and messaging that resonates with the high school audience.
- Plays a key role in growing high school student membership and executes strategies to identify and promote member benefits to high school students, educators and parents.
- Primarily responsible for planning and coordination of INCPAS CPA Week—including scheduling classroom presentations, booking volunteer speakers and preparing and distributing all event collateral.
- Collaborates with the Center for Audit Quality’s Accounting+ team to incorporate programming (Everfi expansion), marketing and research into the Indiana market.
- Assists with dual enrollment and apprenticeship initiatives.
- Assists with the INCPAS Scholars program (yearlong career awareness and mentoring program) planning and execution including managing mentors, supervising students, planning events and coordinating with sponsoring organizations.
- Collaborates with NABA Inc. to support the ACAP program and other student focused initiatives.
College/University:
- Works with VP – Pipeline & Outreach to develop presentation materials and messaging that resonates with the college audience.
- Plays a key role in growing college student membership and executes strategies to identify and promote member benefits to students and educators.
- Stays up-to-date on CPA Exam and licensure news/procedures and serves as the Society contact for CPA Exam and initial licensure questions.
- Attends various campus events (career fairs, campus presentation, meetings) and delivers presentations to promote opportunities in accounting and the CPA profession and the Indiana CPA Society and its partnering organizations.
- Assists with the Meet the Profession Leadership Series (scheduling speakers, working with communications to promote the events, and oversees the Meet the Profession Night event).
- Assists with college student events such as Partner Chats and firm/company visits (planning, staffing and promoting).
- Develops and oversees the Student Ambassador Program.
- Coordinates the publication of the INCPAS Employer Guide.
- Assists with the Indiana CPA Educational Foundation, its scholarship programs and fundraising.
Academia/Educators:
- Supports educator members -- recruitment of new members, engagement of existing members.
- Assists with the planning of the Educators Conference.
- Supports Indiana colleges/universities with accounting advisory board needs.
- Coordinates college/university town halls.
Advocacy:
- Implements administrative functions for Indiana CPA-PAC including workplans and contribution analysis and tracking reports.
- Assists with the administrative functions of recruiting and communicating with the CPA Advocates program, including the planning of CPA Advocates activities, advocacy events and communications with legislators and members.
Other:
- Actively participates in strategic initiatives to achieve objectives related to workforce development, diversity, equity & inclusion and advocacy initiatives.

Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in recruiting, workforce development, association management, nonprofit, education, advocacy, or related fields.
- Proficiency in common presentation tools such as Canva, PowerPoint, etc.
Education, Training and/or Experience
- Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with contact management systems, database software, and Office 365 suite – Microsoft Teams, a plus.
