Overview: We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Sustainability Intern to join our EHS&S department. Amphenol Corporation is seeking candidates to perform general and project-specific Sustainability duties at its PA, NY, or CT locations. Reports to corporate EHS staff, which may include the Director of EHS or Corporate Sustainability Manager; may also work under direct supervision of other management functions as well.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assists with EHS & Sustainability policy and procedure review and development and the development of training materials.
- Assists with management of company Business Characterization database to include all company owned/leased assets globally. Provides management of change updates as necessary to ensure system remains current.
- Assume an integral role in the implementation of enterprise Sustainability software addressing Sustainability reporting, Supply Chain transparency and a Corporate Part Number database.
- Develop and deliver training materials to ensure Sustainability/Product Stewardship/Supply Chain Transparency software users are well-prepared to employ the system in accordance with the master implementation schedule. Assists with software implementation.
- Develops EMIS, Sustainability, and Product Stewardship training.
- Perform collection/validation of representative Sustainability metrics applicable to Amphenol’s decentralized business structure to support Corporate Social Responsibility reporting.
- Assists with data entry and review of ESG disclosures, such as RobecoSAM and Carbon Disclosure Project.
- Work with Corporate Sustainability team on assessing the impact of emerging Sustainability regulations on the enterprise.
- Assist in evaluation, and eventually selection, of viable Regulatory Content providers capable of delivering EHS, Product Stewardship, Sustainability and Social Responsibility information.
- Assist with other EHS, Sustainability, Product Stewardship, and Social Responsibility projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Discipline: Environmental, Chemical, Safety, Industrial, Mechanical or Systems Engineering a/o Management
- Undergraduate chemistry & math
- Understanding of CAS# registry and EC # as related to HazCom programs
- Ability to review, interpret & summarize global EHS regulations
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite
- Familiarity with management systems (Quality, environmental or safety)
- Proficiency with A/V net conferencing
- Self-starter
- Multi-tasker capable of shifting priorities on a frequent basis
- Systems-based thinker
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with EHS regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
- Knowledge of sustainability practices and environmental impact assessment.
- Previous internship or project experience in EHS or sustainability.
