Technology Support Specialist
The Technology Support Specialist is a member of the IT Department and reports to the Director of Technology. The Technology Support Specialist will work with a team of individuals whose primary responsibilities are installing, supporting, and maintaining the technology system of the organization. The Technology Support Specialist must maintain a healthy value system, including moral and ethical behavior consistent with the agency’s mission and core values.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Handle staff support for network, computer, copier, and printer service requests.
- Install, configure, and upgrade operating systems and software.
- Install, assemble, and configure computers, monitors, and network infrastructure components.
- Install and maintain voice hardware, including phones and cables.
- Monitor and maintain printer and copier supplies.
- Update and maintain office email, network, and software users, including terminating and adding employees.
- Assist with organization of data on servers, along with user access.
- Assist management with supplies and equipment inventory.
- Assist with technology special projects as assigned.
- Attend staff meetings and functions as assigned.
- Assist with special projects, make presentations at staff meetings, and assist with Board of Directors meetings.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position may occasionally require time beyond regular office hours to complete required assignments and workload or to assist with special functions and meetings. This position regularly shares on-call phone support on nights and weekends. Regular office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. An automobile for in town and out of town travel is required. Mileage reimbursement is provided for use of personal automobile for approved business purposes. A technology stipend is provided to support the communication requirements of this position.
EDUCATION/LICENSURE
An Associate’s Degree in a computer-related field or a minimum of three years of technology experience is required. Previous experience with a nonprofit organization is preferred.
TRAINING
Training hours must be completed annually to comply with licensing and accreditation standards, as well as MCH policy. The employee’s supervisor may require additional training to meet specific job requirements or enhance professional growth. Completion of training requirements is mandatory for continued employment.
OTHER
This employee must be willing to be cross-trained in all areas of the Technology Department. The Technology Support Specialist must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid Texas Driver’s License, an excellent driving record that meets the standards set forth by the liability insurance company and Methodist Children’s Home, no criminal history, and acceptable references.
