Athletics Operations : Live Production, Camera Operators and Producers

Under the immediate supervision of the Associate Athletic Director for External Relations, this position will be responsible for assisting with the live streaming efforts of Parkside Athletic events as camera operators or live stream producers. This includes following the action and working to provide the viewers with a high quality product through FloSports. We will use two to three cameras per event. Previous experience is not necessary, training will be provided.
Job Responsibilities
- Live Stream Camera Operation
- Capture an array of different angles of the live action, based on the direction of the Parkside Athletics Communications staff.
- Attend pre-production meetings before events.
- Control robotic cameras.
- Operate stationary and handheld digital cameras.
- Produce any pre-recorded shots or previews.
- Setup prior to and takedown after the completion of an event.
- Event Production
- Creatively produce the Parkside Athletics livestream that is streamed via FloSports.
- Produce the live stream that will have between 2-5 different camera angles available for use.
- Run replays of key plays within an event to create a high-quality viewing experience.
- Run correct commercials during timeouts, so that Parkside Athletics fulfills contractual obligations.
- Make sure that correct graphics are showing on the screen for the viewers at home.
Knowledge / Abilities
- Ability to understand the basics of the sport that is being worked so that the action can be filmed appropriately.
- Ability to take instruction from the Parkside Athletics Communications staff to effectively create a high-level live stream.
- Ability to work independently when needed.
Physical Demands
- Physically be able to stand for 1-2 hours at a time.
- Lift equipment up to 25lbs.
Required Qualifications
- Qualify for work study financial aid assistance.
- Currently enrolled at UW-Parkside.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of sports videography and sports live production.
- Live production experience.
- Camera operation experience.
- Night and weekend availability.
