Agency Public Engagement Manager
The Agency Policy Specialist plays a vital role in advancing the Department of Public Safety's mission by collaborating with leaders to develop public engagement efforts that shape and help implement policy and budgetary frameworks. This role acts as a crucial liaison for internal partnerships within DPS. This role manages public engagement portfolio/projects and expands engagement strategies alongside the DPS Partnerships and Engagement Manager to enhance public safety initiatives.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Three years of professional experience in developing, planning, coordinating, implementing or managing community outreach, engagement, and/or public policy projects and initiatives.
- Strong technical and creative writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a passion for simplifying and making complex information more accessible to the average reader.
- Advanced communication skills in oral presentations and formal writing for contributing to presentations, informational literature, and reports.
- Project management and consensus-building skills among various agencies, interest groups, and constituents
- Ability to work cooperatively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and underserved communities
Preferred Qualifications
- International Association of Public Participation (IAP2) certification(s) or willingness to complete within 12 months.
- Bi/multi-lingual candidates.
- Current/previous State employment experience.
Physical Requirements
Very Light: Requires occasionally moving and transporting such articles as file folders and small tools. May need to maintain a stationary position for long periods of time while carrying out job duties.
