Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and results oriented individual to serve as Cook County Mental Health Services Coordinator. Under administrative direction, this position will administer, direct, and coordinate the Cook County region’s portion of the Department’s statewide mental health services program. The position will analyze data related to client mental health functioning and needs and availability of service resources. The position will also develop service resources and monitor the availability of qualified mental health service providers and delivery of mental health services. Job Responsibilities
- Serves as Cook County Mental Health Services Coordinator
- Develops service resources and monitors the availability of qualified mental health service providers
- Monitors mental health services delivery within the region to ensure that services provided are commensurate with needs
- Provides expert consultation to DCFS staff and service providers
- Establishes and maintains relationships with community-based resources
- Participates in agency work groups focusing on reform efforts, agency planning, interagency agreements and initiatives as they relate to mental health services
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires an MSW or MA in psychology or community mental health from an accredited college or university
- Requires three years of administrative experience with youth in care and/or special needs populations
Conditions of Employment
- Requires a valid driver’s license and ability to travel
- Requires ability to pass a background check
