Key Accounts Analyst

About the Role: Must be able to perform analytical work related to KUB’s largest commercial, industrial, and institutional customers. Analyzes data related to KUB rate structures, customer demand, usage, and other areas that might impact billing for Key Accounts customers. Works cooperatively and communicates with a variety of groups or individuals, including management, to analyze and resolve problems. Must be flexible in performing daily tasks and accepts additional duties as needed.
Qualifications
Physical Requirements:
Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with a preferred major in Accounting, Engineering, Finance, or another technical or business related field
Ability to interpret interval data for large commercial and industrial customers
Capable of interpreting complicated utility rate schedules
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Strong written and oral communication, interpersonal and team skills, leadership abilities
Ability to work independently on projects in a timely manner (commitment to timeliness and responsiveness)
Proficiency in spreadsheets, database management, and presentation software (Microsoft Office)
Have and maintain a valid driver's license
Preferred Requirements:
Aptitude to analyze and perform rate comparisons
Understanding the basics of SQL and Power BI
Ability to perform economic analysis such as contribution in aid of construction (CIAC) or margin analysis
Possess or demonstrates ability to obtain Business Energy Professional certification through the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) or other energy licenses/certification (i.e. CEM, BEP, CDSM)
Experience working with complex billing engines such as Lodestar
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Professional Engineer (PE)
Three (3) to five (5) years experience in financial analysis
Three (3) to five (5) years experience in utility rate making, particularly electric rates within the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) region
