Production Test Technician Job Description: 

Through hands-on training and direct task oversight from the Production Test Team Lead, the Production Test Technician (I) performs a variety of tasks to ensure product assembly quality standards are met. These tasks may include, but are not limited to: inspecting, programming, calibrating, and testing subassemblies and finished products ensuring they meet manufacturer’s specifications. In addition, subassembly and product level troubleshooting may be required to identify and correct assembly test failures

  • Follow Procedures to perform: inspection, programming, calibration, and testing of assemblies and finished products, ensuring conformance with specifications and quality standards.
  • Perform assembly and product level failure analysis including circuit troubleshooting.
  • Perform assigned activities from oral and/or written instructions, drawings, or other manufacturing information.
  • Follow established QMS and Product Test & Inspection procedures and/or work instructions for assigned activities. Complete Test Record data entry and file Test Records as required.
  • Handle materials in accordance with established QMS & ESD procedures.
  • Work in a timely manner, (striving to meet the Test Router Time Standard), facilitating meeting Customer Order delivery dates and Product Test Team team’s daily Work To list objectives.
  • Maintain expected progress of jobs in area of assignment and effectively identify and communicate problem areas.
  • Observe good housekeeping and safety procedures and keep equipment, tools and work area clean and orderly (6S). Learn to conduct daily 6S area checklists.
  • Other duties as assigned by Leadership/Supervision.

Production Test Technician Job Requirements:

  • Associate degree or other applicable technical degree required.
  • 0 to 5 years’ work experience as a technician in an electrical product environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to read basic electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform electromechanical system and circuit (analog, digital, power supply, and high voltage) troubleshooting and repair to component level.
  • Familiarity or desire to learn setting up and using calibration standards and measurement & test equipment (DMMs, O-Scopes, Insulation Testers, Power Supplies, etc.) for the purpose of collecting measurement calibration and/or test data on electronic products.
  • Average soldering skills and knowledge of soldering techniques are essential.
  • Familiarity using PCs and PC applications for data measurement collection and reporting.
  • Comfort in working with or learning to work safely with High Voltages, 1kV to 80kV, a plus.
